Welcome To Eagle's Pride

Eagle's Pride Hatchery was established in 2001 by the current owner, Mr Arend Kuipers. The capacity of the available facilities was a mere 150 000 day old chicks per week at that stage.

An intense expansion programme was embarked upon which, through dedication, hard and smart work, brought the total capacity to 1.8 million chicks per week.

Eagle's Pride Hatchery is fully self-sufficient in the supply of hatching eggs. The farms supplying these eggs are managed by co-owners and share holders.

Breeds that are currently used to produce quality day old chicks:

- Cobb 500, supplied by Cobb SA (an affiliate of Rainbow Farms)
- Ross 308, supplied by Ross Poultry Breeders (part of Astral)

Eagle's Pride Hatchery currently produces approximately 9% of the total broiler day old chicks produced in South Africa.

Eagle's Pride Hatchery is currently the largest independent non-integrated day old chick producer in South Africa.

Veterinary services are supplied to the group by Dr Petrus Engelbrecht and Dr Ferdi Greyling, with the support of the Onderstepoort Laboratories.
